Lladró began in Spain when three brothers began to experiment with
porcelain in an oven from the basement of their family home. Within five
years the deman for their creations grew to such a level that the brothers
moved from the family basement to a warehouse location. Within the first ten
years American tourists discovered the figures and were captivated by their
simple beauty. Lladró pieces were purchased and shipped overseas tot
he US and Canada. As time has gone on the Lladró family has added
more artisans to their work which has made the art pieces so diverse. Today
the company creates some the the most fine and detailed porcelain work in
the world.
